9/17/2015 – NCOE Invitational

First places all around, what a great time. The Foxes went to the Norris City Invitational set on taking home a little bit of hardware. The girls were missing Schuyler Bailey due to some sickness and were looking to have a few others step up and fill in for her. The boy’s team was in full force and even had two athletes that were unable to compete due to the Invitational only having two races.

The girls ran first and moved in to position quickly. Leslie Drone took off and never looked back, having 1st place from the beginning of the race all the way to the end of the race. Jasmine Coomes ran really hard and took 3rd place overall. Raegan Halley said after the race her legs were like rubber, she still was able to run hard enough to take fourth place overall. Maddy Holloman, Kaylee Chapman and Leah Ragan all finished within the top 15 giving the girl’s team a score of 30 Points, which was good enough for a 1st Place!

The Boy’s team took off at 4:00  and stayed at the back of the pack until after about a 1/4 mile. Tyler Byars then quickly moved into 1st place and never looked back, if he had looked back he would have seen Matt Rubenacker who finished 2nd place overall. The next three Foxes runners all finished in almost identical times with Clay Ragan taking 5th, Chad Barnard taking 6th and Logan Hunt rounding out the top 5 of the Foxes with a 7th place finish. Alex Soltanipanah finished in 11th and Trenton Butler finished in 15th. The Foxes took 1st Place overall with a score of 27 points.

Lots of parents and friends made the short trip to cheer on the teams. The Foxes next race is Saturday morning at Olney for the Olney Invitational.
